Is vitamin b12 good for weight loss?
I'm trying to shed some extra kilos and exploring different supplements that might help. I read somewhere that Vitamin B12 could aid in weight loss. Is Vitamin B12 good for weight loss, or is that just a myth?

I was struggling with weight gain and extreme tiredness, and my blood test showed a huge B12 deficiency. Once I started the doctor's prescribed B12 supplements, my energy returned and I could finally workout properly, which helped me lose weight. But B12 itself doesn't melt fat, it just boosts your metabolism.
Honestly, B12 won't make you lose weight on its own. I took it for my nerve pain, and while my energy levels went up, my weight stayed the same until I actually fixed my diet and started running. Use it if you are deficient, but don't treat it as a fat burner.
I can only speak from my own journey of losing 10 kgs. My doctor gave me B12 because my levels were low, and it definitely helped me feel less lazy and more active during the day. For actual weight loss, it was my calorie-deficit diet that did the real work.
I am thinking of starting B12 supplements to help with my sluggish metabolism and weight loss. Has anyone here actually lost weight after starting B12, or is it just a myth? I get really nervous about starting any new tablets without knowing if they work.

I spent months trying random vitamins and B12 thinking my weight gain and fatigue were just normal, but it turned out to be a thyroid issue. Don't make the mistake of self-diagnosing with B12. Please get a full blood panel and thyroid test done first to see what's actually going on.
