Zerunio ("Zerunio", "we", "us") publishes evidence-based health information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We are a health publisher – we are not your doctor and we do not run your medical care.
1. Information we collect
- Account details. When you sign in we collect your mobile number (verified by one-time code) and, if you provide it, your name and email.
- Content you post. Questions you ask the community, answers, votes, and saved articles.
- Newsletter. Your email address if you subscribe, plus whether you confirmed and opened emails.
- Usage & device data. With your consent, privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (page views, referrers) and standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamps) for security.
2. How we use your information
- To run your account, saved articles, and community activity.
- To send the newsletter you asked for and let you unsubscribe anytime.
- To understand which health topics help people, in aggregate, and improve the site.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse and spam.
3. AI processing (MediMind)
When you ask MediMind or use "Ask Zerunio", the text of your question is sent to our AI provider (Hugging Face) to generate a general-information answer. Don't include personal identifying or sensitive health details in these requests. MediMind answers are labelled and are not medical advice.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, under contract:
- Hosting & storage: Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Email delivery: Amazon SES (newsletter, confirmations).
- One-time login codes: our SMS provider.
- AI answers: Hugging Face (question text only, as above).
- Analytics & ads: only with your consent (see our Cookie policy).
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Cookies & tracking
Necessary cookies keep the site working. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you consent. Manage your choices anytime from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. See the Cookie policy.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account data – email us.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
- Withdraw cookie consent anytime.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/UK, Indian DPDP Act), you may have additional rights to portability and objection.
7. Data retention & security
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
8. Children
Zerunio is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. International transfers
We operate globally; your data may be processed in countries with different laws. We use providers with appropriate safeguards.
