Does vitamin b12 cause weight loss?

My cousin told me that taking Vitamin B12 can actually help you lose weight. I'm trying to shed a few kilos, so I was wondering if this is a real benefit.

Honestly, I wish it did! I took B12 for a month hoping it would balance out my weekend chole bhature sessions, but no luck. It just made me feel less tired, which unfortunately only increased my late-night kitchen trips.

My sister suggested drinking herbal decoctions for weight loss, but my doctor explained that nutrient deficiencies like low B12 can actually slow down metabolism. Correcting it brings your body back to normal, but please follow your doctor's specific advice.

As a strict vegetarian, I monitor my B12 closely because we lack natural sources. While B12 helps with energy levels, it does not cause weight loss directly. You still need to rely on a balanced diet and portion control.

Between back-to-back meetings, I barely have time to workout, so I researched B12 too. It only helps with weight loss if a severe deficiency was making you too fatigued to move. Don't expect it to replace regular exercise.

There is a common misconception that B12 is a weight loss supplement. While it is essential for cellular energy production, there is no scientific proof that excess B12 melts fat. Consulting a qualified doctor is always the best path.

I understand how stressful it is when your weight changes suddenly and you start worrying if a supplement is the cause. When I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency, my weight fluctuated too. Try to take a deep breath; checking with your physician will ease your mind.
