Will the implant cause weight gain?

I'm thinking of getting the birth control implant, but one of my biggest concerns is gaining weight. My friend said she gained a lot after getting hers. Will the implant cause weight gain, ya is it different for everyone?

My older sister also worried about this when she got hers. Many women feel that way, but studies show it's often not a direct cause. Some people might experience some water retention or appetite changes, but significant weight gain is usually not a guaranteed side effect. It's best to discuss all your concerns with your gynaecologist, they know your body best.

I'm also new to looking into birth control options, and this is one of my biggest worries. Do people generally feel like their appetite increases a lot, or is it more like water weight? It's confusing to read different things online. Any personal experiences would be helpful.

My ex-girlfriend had an implant, and she definitely felt like she gained some weight, or at least it was harder to lose. But she also said it affected her appetite sometimes. I guess it varies a lot from person to person with these hormonal things. Best to ask a lady doctor, they know better.

Yaar, this is such a common worry with any hormonal birth control! Actually, studies say the link isn't super strong, but some women *do* report feeling like they gain weight or find it harder to lose. It could be water retention or appetite changes. Everyone's body reacts differently. Just talk to your gynaecologist, they can tell you what to expect for *your* body type.

If you're worried about weight gain, it's natural! Hormonal changes can sometimes affect appetite or metabolism. While the implant isn't generally known to cause massive weight gain, if you find yourself getting extra cravings for delicious snacks, just be mindful of what you're eating. Small, healthy swaps can make a big difference!

I was so worried about this too when I got my implant! I panicked for the first few months, thinking I was gaining weight. But after a while, my body adjusted. It wasn't significant weight gain for me, maybe just some initial water retention. Everyone's body reacts differently, but it's usually not a huge factor for most. Don't stress too much, your body will adapt.

It's a common concern, but evidence suggests it's often minimal or not directly caused by the implant. Body reacts differently.

The doctors say that usually it doesn't cause big weight gain. It's more about how you eat and how active you are. If there are minor hormonal changes, just be a bit more mindful of your portion sizes and try to walk daily. Simple things work best, no need to overthink too much. Just stay active and eat home food.
