Will lantus cause weight loss?

My father recently started taking Lantus for his diabetes, and he's also trying to manage his weight. He heard that some diabetes medications can cause weight changes. Will Lantus cause weight loss, or is it more neutral in that regard?

For diabetes, natural remedies like good diet and exercise are always good. But for medicines like Lantus, it's important to understand. Lantus is an insulin, and insulin generally tends to cause weight gain, not loss, because it helps your body store energy. So, it's very unlikely to cause weight loss. Always discuss with your doctor if you have concerns about weight and medication.

Yaar, actually, Lantus is an insulin, right? And usually, insulin se toh weight gain hota hai, not loss. Because your body stores sugar more efficiently. So if someone is telling you it causes weight loss, maybe cross-check with your doctor. That's not the primary effect.

Na bhai, Lantus se weight loss nahi hota hai. Ye toh insulin hai, aur insulin toh actually weight badhati hai thoda sa, kyuki body glucose ko store karti hai. Agar weight loss ho raha hai toh uski koi aur wajah hogi. Doc se baat karo is baare mein.

As someone who deals with medicines, I can tell you that Lantus (insulin glargine) typically does not cause weight loss. In fact, insulin therapy generally has a side effect of weight gain because it helps your body store the glucose. If you're experiencing unusual weight changes, it's important to talk to your endocrinologist, as there could be other factors involved.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Lantus is an insulin, and generally, insulin therapies tend to cause some weight gain, not weight loss. It helps your body absorb glucose, which can lead to fat storage. If you're noticing unexpected weight changes, it's best to chat with your doctor or diabetes educator.
