Why is recovery after cancer treatment so brutal?

My cousin just finished her chemotherapy and radiation, and she's struggling so much with fatigue and side effects. Everyone said the treatment was tough, but her recovery seems even harder. Why is recovery after cancer treatment so brutal and long?

The body undergoes immense stress during cancer treatment, it's like a war within. Chemotherapy and radiation, while saving lives, also deplete the body's energy and harm healthy cells. Gentle practices like restorative yoga and pranayama can help bring some calm and strength back, but it's a long journey of healing, not just physical but spiritual too.

Beta, cancer treatment sharir ko andar se thaka deta hai. Dawaaiyan bahut tez hoti hain. Aise mein dheere-dheere hi taqat waapas aati hai. Ghar ka saaf suthra, halka bhojan, aur sabar bahut zaroori hai. Thoda tulsi ka paani, haldi doodh, agar doctor bole toh, le sakte ho taqat ke liye. But listen to doc always.

I can tell you firsthand, it's brutal because it's not just the physical toll. The emotional and mental exhaustion is immense. There's the fear of recurrence, the body image issues, the constant fatigue. It takes so much to rebuild your life and confidence. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and take your time to heal, it's a massive journey.

It makes me so anxious even thinking about it, knowing how much cancer treatments put your body through. It's brutal because the treatments like chemo and radiation are so strong, they don't just target cancer, but also damage healthy cells, leading to extreme fatigue, nausea, pain, and long-term side effects. It's a huge physical and mental battle. Stay strong everyone.

See, cancer treatment is very aggressive because it has to kill cancer cells. In that process, your entire system takes a hit. Your immune system is weak, organs are stressed, and emotionally also it's draining. It's not a quick fix; it needs a lot of time, patience, and good care to bounce back. Don't rush it.
