Why are weight loss drugs so expensive?

I've been looking into weight loss medications, and they are quite expensive, much more than other common medicines. Why are these weight loss drugs so costly compared to other treatments?

My son also struggles with weight, and I've looked into these medicines. Honestly, the cost is a huge barrier for so many families. It feels like good health shouldn't be so inaccessible, right? We're trying to focus on lifestyle changes first.

From what I understand, these newer weight loss drugs often involve complex research and development, which drives up their initial cost. Plus, they're often patented, so there isn't much competition to bring prices down yet. Always best to discuss with your doctor if it's the right fit and if there are generic alternatives.

It's a tough one, no doubt. The R&D costs for new drugs are massive, and these companies want to recover that investment. For working professionals like us, it's hard to justify such expenses unless absolutely necessary. Focus on diet and exercise first, if possible.

Yaar, I've wondered the same thing. Actually, I think it's partly because they're 'new' and very in demand, na? Like, everyone wants a quick fix. So companies charge a premium. Plus, I heard manufacturing some of these is also quite complicated. Bohot expensive hai, for real.

Beti, medicines for weight have become so common now, but they are very costly. In our times, we focused on simple, ghar ka khaana and regular walking. Perhaps discuss with a good doctor if such a strong medicine is truly needed, or if natural ways can help more.

Yeah, the prices for new weight loss meds are super high right now. It's probably a combination of innovation costs and market demand. Instead of jumping to drugs, maybe try focusing on tracking your calories and activity with apps? Sometimes small, consistent changes make a big difference and are free!

It's really concerning how expensive medical treatments are becoming, especially for something like weight management which affects so many people. I keep thinking, what if someone needs it urgently but can't afford it? It creates so much anxiety. Hope you find an affordable solution.

Honestly, don't stress too much about the drug cost right away. Maybe there are other options to explore with your doctor first? Sometimes it's about the company recovering its investment for research, but it definitely makes it tough for the common person. We can figure this out.

The prices for these new drugs are insane, right? For most of us, it's simply not affordable. It's better to invest in good, healthy food and some kind of physical activity daily. It's a slower process but sustainable and lighter on the pocket.

I haven't personally tried any weight loss drugs, but I've seen friends struggle with the cost. My experience has been that consistency with diet and exercise, even small changes, really adds up. It's a long process, but usually free, except for groceries!
