Why are my feet swollen after pregnancy?

It's been a month since my delivery, and my feet are still getting really swollen, especially by evening. Is this normal after pregnancy, or should I be worried? My mother-in-law says it will go away, but I'm a bit concerned.

Oh, many new mothers experience this, it's quite common. Your body is still adjusting to the hormonal changes and fluid retention. Gentle leg stretches and elevating your feet when resting can help. Also, pranayama can aid circulation, which might reduce swelling naturally. Always consult your doctor for any new or persistent symptoms.

I remember having this too after my delivery. My gynaecologist at Apollo Hospital said it's normal as the body gets rid of excess fluids. But she also told me to watch out if it gets very bad or painful. Best to call your doctor or nurse and ask them directly, they can give you proper advice specific to your situation.

While it's often a normal post-pregnancy thing, it's always good to mention it to your doctor. Our bodies go through so much, and sometimes swelling can be a sign of something else, though usually not serious. My sister also had it for a few weeks, and her doctor just advised rest and elevation.

Don't worry, child, this happened to me after both my children! It's very common, your body has been through a lot of changes. Just keep your feet elevated when you sit and try not to stand for too long. It will slowly go away as your body recovers. But if it's very uncomfortable, talk to your doctor.

Oh, same here! My feet were like balloons for weeks after delivery, it was so annoying. My mom said it's normal but it still felt weird. Try to drink enough water and avoid too much salt. And wear comfy shoes! It eventually subsides, but do check with your doc if you're concerned.
