Which statin is safe for elevated liver enzymes?

My cholesterol is high, but I also have elevated liver enzymes. My doctor wants to put me on statins, but I'm worried about my liver. Is there a statin that is generally considered safe for people with liver enzyme issues?

This is a serious question and not something to decide based on forum advice. Elevated liver enzymes need investigation, especially if you're considering statins. Please, please consult a hepatologist or your treating physician. They will assess your liver function and recommend the safest option. My doctor always says for any pre-existing conditions like my thyroid, specific drugs need special consideration.

Having faced complications with meds myself, I can't stress enough: only a doctor can answer this. Mixing medications or choosing one for a specific condition like elevated liver enzymes without proper medical guidance is extremely risky. Please see your doctor for a detailed consultation.

That's a tricky one! I was reading about statins and liver enzymes recently. Apparently, some statins are metabolized differently, making them potentially safer for those with liver issues, but it's very individual. It's not a one-size-fits-all answer at all.

Yaar, actually with liver enzymes being high, any statin choice is super sensitive. This is strictly doctor ka advice, not something you can figure out online. They might even adjust dosage or suggest alternatives. Pls consult your doc, they know best.

For liver health and cholesterol, alongside any medication your doctor prescribes, focusing on a clean diet and regular exercise makes a huge difference. Reduce processed foods, incorporate more greens. But for statins with elevated enzymes, only a doc can advise which one is safest.

Oh, so statins can affect liver enzymes? I didn't know that. If someone has already high liver enzymes, does it mean they can't take statins at all, or just need a special type?
