Which pasta is better for diabetics?

My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes and he loves pasta. Our doctor said we need to watch his diet carefully, especially carbs. Could you tell me which type of pasta would be a better option for him? We want to make sure he can still enjoy his favourite foods safely.

Honestly, I just stick to whole wheat pasta when I eat it, which is rare. My doctor said it's better because of the fiber. But I don't eat it often enough to know if it makes a huge difference, mostly just for a change sometimes. Don't take it as advice though, please consult your doctor for proper guidance.

Oh, this is a good question! I always get worried about pasta. I tried some 'diabetic-friendly' quinoa pasta once, but then my sugar level was still a bit high. Did anyone else experience that? Or is it just me? It's so confusing to know what's really safe.

For diabetics, definitely look for whole grain or even chickpea/lentil pasta options. They have more fiber and protein, which helps slow down sugar absorption. But portion control is key, no matter what kind. Pair it with lots of veggies and lean protein to make it a balanced meal. Also, a small walk after dinner helps.

Namaste. It is important to remember that our body is a temple. Listen to what your body tells you and consult with your doctor for what is best. Maintain a positive mind, eat fresh food in moderation, and trust that you are doing your best. Every small step helps.

Hello everyone. I'm new to managing diabetes and this is all very overwhelming. So, if I find whole wheat pasta, is that enough, or do I need to look for something else? Like, what about brown rice pasta? Are they similar? Sorry for asking so many questions.

As someone with PCOS, I also have to watch my blood sugar. For pasta, I'd say whole wheat or durum wheat is generally better than refined maida. But honestly, the quantity really matters. Don't go overboard, even with 'healthy' options. And please, please talk to your endocrinologist or a dietician for specific recommendations.
