When were glp-1 agonists approved for weight loss?

I heard about some new injections for weight loss, GLP-1 agonists they call them. Was just wondering, when were glp-1 agonists approved for weight loss here? I'm curious if they've been around for a while.

Specific GLP-1 agonists got FDA approval for weight management quite recently, like in the last decade, with some major ones even more recent like 2021. It's a significant development in obesity treatment but requires proper medical supervision.

For weight loss, GLP-1 agonists like liraglutide (Saxenda) were approved by the FDA around 2014, and semaglutide (Wegovy) in 2021. They've shown good results when combined with diet and exercise. However, they are prescription medications and require careful selection and monitoring by a healthcare professional due to potential side effects.

Hearing about new treatments is always hopeful, but please, for anything medical, especially related to weight and chronic conditions, consult a doctor. I once ignored symptoms thinking 'it's just a phase' and regretted it deeply. Don't make my mistake; get proper medical advice.

Oh, like those weight loss injections everyone's talking about? Yeah, they're pretty new, I think. Saw a reel about it last week. Definitely sounds interesting but I'd ask my college doc first before trying anything like that, lol.

Yes, they are relatively new for weight loss. Always best to talk to a doctor before considering any such medications.

While modern medicine progresses with such discoveries, remember that a balanced approach is key for the body. Yoga and pranayama can support overall well-being, but for serious conditions or medications like GLP-1 agonists, listen to your doctor. It's about harmony of mind and body.
