When does metformin start working for weight loss?

My doctor prescribed Metformin for my PCOS and also mentioned it could help with weight. I've been taking it for a few weeks but haven't seen much change in my weight yet. When does Metformin usually start working for weight loss?

Metformin is a good medicine, but for weight loss, it's not magic, beta. It helps regulate your sugar, and then slowly, with diet control and walking, you will see a change. Don't expect instant results, it takes time, maybe a few months to truly show.

From a practical standpoint, metformin primarily helps with insulin sensitivity and blood sugar. Weight loss can be a secondary effect, but it's not a dedicated weight-loss drug. You'll likely see gradual changes over several weeks to months, combined with diet and exercise. Don't just rely on the pill.

Bro, my aunt used it and she said it wasn't like instant weight loss. It helps with metabolism and all, so you start feeling better and then weight drops slowly. Don't expect to lose 10 kgs in a week, chill.

I remember taking Metformin and getting impatient because I wasn't seeing results fast! But my doctor told me it's not a quick fix. It helps regulate things inside, and then with consistent effort in diet and exercise, the weight loss happens over a few months. Don't panic if it's slow, it's normal.

Metformin is relatively affordable, but for weight loss specifically, it’s not its primary role. It might help over a longer period, say 3-6 months, alongside lifestyle changes. Don't spend too much hoping for a quick fix; focus on diet and exercise which are free.

As someone who manages diabetes with Metformin, I can tell you it primarily works on blood sugar. The weight loss is a bonus and usually slow. It's not a magic pill for weight. You need to be very careful with your diet, especially carbs and sugar, and stay active. Then you'll see results over months, not days.

Metformin isn't a direct weight-loss drug. It helps with insulin resistance, which can indirectly lead to some weight loss. Expect to see minor, gradual changes over several months, usually after 2-3 months of consistent use, alongside a proper diet and exercise regimen. No quick fixes here.

Hey, Metformin is good, but don't stress too much about instant weight loss with it, okay? It helps your body become more sensitive to insulin, which can lead to gradual weight loss. Think more long-term, like a few months, and always pair it with healthy eating and some movement! You got this!

Having dealt with this, I can confidently say Metformin's weight loss effect is secondary and gradual. It starts optimizing your metabolism within weeks, but visible weight loss, especially significant, usually takes 3-6 months or even more, combined with strict diet control and regular physical activity. Consistency is key.
