When does baby weight gain slow down?

My baby is growing really fast right now, almost too fast it feels! I'm curious if this rapid weight gain continues or if it slows down. When does baby weight gain usually slow down, around what age or stage?

For my baby, the super rapid weight gain phase was definitely in the first 6 months. After that, especially when they started crawling and eating solids more, it naturally slowed down. They become more active, so it balances out.

Aiyo, children grow very fast in the beginning, no? Like a plant. But after they start sitting up and moving, and eating rice and daal, the weight gain becomes a little slower. It is natural. Just make sure to feed them good, homemade food.

Infants have explosive growth, especially in the first few months. But once they hit the crawling stage and beyond, and their activity levels go up, and diet diversifies, that rapid weight gain tends to plateau. It's a natural shift as they become more active.

I totally get why you're asking, it's easy to worry about baby's weight! Generally, after the first 6 months, once they start moving more and solids come into play, the super-fast weight gain period slows down. It's a good sign of healthy development and increased activity.

My paediatrician mentioned that babies experience their most rapid growth in the first 4-6 months. After 6 months, as they become more mobile (crawling, pulling up) and start solid foods, the rate of weight gain naturally slows down significantly. This is a normal part of development.

Generally, babies pack on weight very quickly in the first 4-6 months. After that, as they explore more and become more active, and start solids, the weight gain rate naturally tapers off. It's not a concern unless your doctor says so. Just ensure they are getting enough nutrients.
