When do you start gaining weight in pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and trying to understand the changes my body will go through. I know gaining weight is part of it. Approximately when in pregnancy do most women usually start to gain noticeable weight?

Look, everyone's body is different. Some women actually lose weight in the first trimester due to morning sickness. The real, steady weight gain typically starts from the second trimester. Don't obsess over exact numbers or what some random article says; always verify with your gynaecologist.

Beta, shuru-shuru mein toh kai baar ulti-dast se kam bhi ho jata hai. Sahi maayne mein vajan badhna toh teen-chaar mahine baad shuru hota hai. Ghar ka poshtik khana khao, doodh piyo. Zyada chinta mat karna.

My sister was all worried in her first trimester because she wasn't gaining weight, actually lost some. But then after like 3-4 months, she started gaining steadily. So I think it's not right from the beginning for everyone.

From a practical standpoint, focus on consistent, healthy eating. Many women don't see significant weight gain until the second trimester, around 14-20 weeks. The initial months can even show a slight dip due to nausea. Prioritize nutrient-dense foods, and your body will gain weight as needed.

Yaar, actually, first trimester mein bahut log weight lose karte hain because of morning sickness. So, actual weight gain starts mostly in the second trimester, around 4th month onwards. Don't stress if you're not gaining right away, it's pretty normal.

In my experience, I didn't start gaining noticeable weight until I was well into my second trimester, maybe around 16 weeks. Before that, it was mostly just feeling bloated and a bit sick. Every body is different, so try not to compare too much.
