What seafood is safe during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my first child, and I'm trying to be really careful about what I eat. I love seafood, but I've heard some types can be risky during pregnancy. Which seafood options are generally considered safe?

I totally get it, pregnancy comes with so many food restrictions, it can be overwhelming! From what I've heard, smaller fish with less mercury like salmon, shrimp, cod, or light canned tuna are generally considered safe in moderation. But always check with your gynecologist.

Yaar, pregnancy mein toh sab cheez darr lagta hai khaane mein! Actually, my sister's doc said salmon, shrimp, and light tuna are fine in small quantities, but avoid the big fish like shark and swordfish, high mercury hota hai. And no sushi, of course, unless it's fully cooked.

My wife really struggled with what she could and couldn't eat during pregnancy, especially seafood which she loved. It's completely valid to feel worried. The main thing is to avoid high-mercury fish like shark, swordfish, and king mackerel. Stick to cooked, low-mercury options.

With my PCOS, I'm always very careful about what I put in my body, and pregnancy just adds another layer of caution. For seafood, definitely avoid raw fish and high-mercury types. Cooked salmon and shrimp are often recommended, but portions matter. Always, always check with your OB-GYN.

Oh, this is a good question! I'm not pregnant yet, but I've been wondering about this too. So, cooked salmon is generally safe? What about things like sushi, even if it's cooked seafood inside?

Pregnancy can be so anxiety-inducing, especially with food choices! It's good you're asking. Generally, well-cooked fish like salmon, shrimp, and light tuna are okay in moderation. Just avoid anything high in mercury and completely raw seafood. A chat with your doctor will ease your mind.

For pregnant women, prioritize low-mercury fish like salmon, cod, or tilapia. Make sure it's fully cooked, no raw seafood. Limit intake to 2-3 servings per week. Simple, clear guidelines from your doctor are the best for safety.
