I used to stress so much about finding the perfect imported low-fat Greek yogurt brands and spent a fortune on them. Then my dietician calmly told me that simple homemade dahi made with low-fat milk is perfectly fine and does the exact same job. It is so much easier and cheaper, don't overthink it.

Listen, if you buy those fancy strawberry or mango yogurts thinking they are healthy, you are basically eating ice cream! Plain Greek yogurt is the absolute best for weight loss because it is super thick and creamy, so it actually satisfies those dessert cravings. Just mix a tiny spoonful of honey and some fresh berries at home.

Plain, fresh homemade curd without any sugar is the most natural thing you can eat to boost your digestion and metabolism. But remember, if your weight gain is sudden or you have extreme fatigue, it could be thyroid or PCOS, so please see a doctor for a proper checkup instead of just changing your diet.

When I was planning my weight loss diet, the clinical nutritionist at AMRI hospital told me that even high-protein yogurt might not suit everyone, especially if you have lactose sensitivity or bloating. It is always better to ask your doctor or a qualified dietitian to recommend what fits your specific gut health.

I log everything on my app, and plain unsweetened Greek yogurt has the best macronutrient ratio for weight loss. You get around 9-10g of protein per 100g serving with very minimal carbs. Avoid anything that says 'fruit on the bottom' because the sugar content is usually double.

These days everything has a fancy name, but our good old homemade curd made from skimmed milk is the best. It's cheap, good for digestion, and doesn't require me to decode complicated labels with my reading glasses. Keep it simple and save your money.

Look at the nutrition label, not the marketing on the front. Go for high-protein, zero-added-sugar plain Greek yogurt like Epigamia or Milky Mist. It keeps you full for hours because of the high protein content, which is exactly what you need when cutting calories.
