What is considered significant weight loss?

I've been trying to lose weight for a while, and my dietician said losing more than a certain percentage is 'significant weight loss'. What is generally considered a significant amount of weight to lose?

Honestly, if your old jeans are literally falling off without a belt, that's significant! But medically, I think losing about 5% of your starting weight is considered a pretty big deal.

Humare hisab se agar bina bimar huye sharir halka ho jaye aur log kehne lagein ki aap patle lag rahe ho, toh wahi badi baat hai. Par apna dhyan rakhiyega, kamzori nahi aani chahiye.

A healthy body is a temple, and losing about 5% to 10% of your body weight can bring positive energy and relief to your joints. Stay positive, eat mindfully, and let your body heal naturally.

Losing 5% to 10% of your body weight is considered medically significant. If you are aiming for this, try to do it gradually over 3 to 6 months so you don't lose muscle mass.

For anyone with PCOS, even a 5% weight loss is highly significant and can actually help restore regular periods. Don't compare your progress with others; slow and steady is always safer for our hormones.

When my son lost about 6 kgs in a couple of months due to heavy sports and stress, the doctor said it was significant. We had to focus on building back his strength with home-cooked high-protein meals.

I always get worried when I lose even 2 kgs, thinking something is wrong. But doctors say 5% of your weight is the benchmark for significant loss. If you didn't plan it, maybe just get a quick checkup to be safe.

I think when your face looks visibly thinner and your clothes fit much better, that’s when you know it's a significant loss. Just make sure you are doing it in a healthy, happy way without starving yourself.
