What is a good diet for weight loss?

I've put on quite a bit of weight in the last year and really want to lose it. My friends keep giving me conflicting advice. What is generally considered a good diet for weight loss?

Humare yahan toh seedha hisab hai—ghar ka bana sadha khana khao, aur bahar ka kachra band karo. Eat seasonal vegetables, simple wheat roti, and fresh curd, and walk for 30 minutes after dinner. Weight will naturally stay normal.

My family suggested skipping meals entirely, but my doctor advised against it. He recommended a balanced diet with portion-controlled brown rice, plenty of boiled lentils, and sambar loaded with healthy local vegetables.

Be careful with high-carb vegetarian diets if you want to lose weight. Swap white rice and heavy potato sabzi for protein-rich options like moong dal chilla, paneer bhurji, or roasted makhana, which keep you full longer.

Look, stop searching for shortcut diets on the internet. Cut out sugar, colas, and maida completely, eat balanced home meals, and stay active. It takes time, but it works.

I tried a crash keto diet without supervision and ended up with severe kidney stones and high uric acid. Please see a registered dietician or a doctor to get a safe diet plan that suits your medical profile.

Make sure your weight loss diet doesn't cut out essential nutrients or healthy fats entirely. Focus on a high-protein, high-fiber intake and drink plenty of water to support your metabolism naturally.

Agree with the advice here. Keeping a consistent calorie deficit with simple, home-cooked food is the healthiest way to lose weight.
