What is a good diet for kidney stones?

I've been suffering from recurring kidney stones and my doctor said diet plays a huge role. What is a good diet to follow to prevent or manage kidney stones?

I have to manage both diabetes and a history of kidney stones. My doctor advised me to strictly limit high-oxalate foods like spinach, nuts, and chocolate, and to make sure I am drinking at least 3 liters of water daily.

I get so worried reading about kidney stones because the pain sounds absolutely terrifying. I am constantly tracking my water intake now to prevent them; please consult a doctor to know exactly what type of stone you have before cutting out healthy foods.

I just recovered from a painful 6mm calcium oxalate stone last month, and the pain was no joke. My doctor told me to drink fresh lemon water daily and to actually consume moderate dietary calcium, like curd, as it binds oxalates in the stomach.

Agree with keeping water intake high. Also, reducing your daily sodium and salt intake helps prevent calcium stones from forming.

Don't panic, but please make sure you drink water consistently throughout the day, not just all at once. If you ever experience sudden, severe lower back pain or blood in your urine, go straight to the hospital.
