What happens if u don't sleep for 24 hours?

Sometimes for exams or big projects, I've gone without sleep for almost 24 hours. I always feel terrible afterward. What happens to your body if you don't sleep for 24 hours straight?

I ignored my chronic insomnia for months and kept pulling 24-hour stretches, thinking it was fine. It eventually led to severe hypertension and a hospital visit. If this is happening often, please consult a doctor before it ruins your health.

Whenever I miss sleep for a full day, my PCOS symptoms flare up and my insulin levels go haywire. I can't say what happens to everyone, but it definitely triggers inflammation for me. Try to get back on track tonight.

While a single night of sleeplessness is common, repeating this frequently can strain your cardiovascular system. If your sleeplessness is due to anxiety or physical discomfort, please get a checkup done by a general physician.

Staying awake for a whole day makes me feel incredibly anxious and emotionally raw. The mental exhaustion is sometimes worse than the physical tiredness. It is completely normal to feel low, just try to rest as much as you can.

I totally get it, sometimes life gets so busy or stressful that sleep just flies away. Your head will feel heavy and your focus will be bad, but you will recover fine once you sleep. Be gentle with yourself today.

At my age, if I stay awake for 24 hours, my back and knees start protesting in three different languages. You will just feel like a sluggish laptop that needs a reboot. Drink some water and go back to bed before your body strikes.
