What does hcg smell like in early pregnancy?

I think I might be pregnant, but it's very early, just a few weeks. I've noticed a strange, kind of metallic smell sometimes. Is that normal, like does HCG have a particular smell in early pregnancy?

I am a bit confused, does hCG itself actually have a specific smell, or does it just change our sense of smell? I've been feeling like everything around me smells incredibly strong lately. Can anyone tell me if this is what early pregnancy feels like?

Haha, hCG doesn't actually have a smell, but it gives you super-canine smelling powers! Suddenly your husband's favorite perfume smells like rotting garbage and the kitchen tadka feels like a chemical weapon. Don't worry, your nose will calm down eventually!

Yes, hCG doesn't have its own scent, but the hormonal surge makes every normal smell feel ten times stronger. Drinking ginger water really helped me handle the sudden nausea from these strong smells.

As someone who has been through this twice, let me clarify: hCG is a hormone inside your body, so it doesn't smell like anything. However, the high levels of it make you extremely sensitive to food, petrol, and soap smells. Keep lemon wedges nearby to sniff when you feel overwhelmed.

I was literally searching the internet for hours trying to find out if my urine was smelling different because of hCG! I got so anxious thinking something was wrong, but then my doctor explained that the hormone just sharpens your own sense of smell. Take a deep breath, you are doing fine!

Honestly, hCG smells like me waking up at 3 AM crying because the fridge smells too loud! It doesn't have a smell of its own, but it turns your nose into a high-tech radar that detects stale food from miles away. Just try to get some sleep and ignore the crazy smells.

Hormones like hCG and thyroid can really mess with your senses and make you highly sensitive to everyday odors. Since hormone levels change rapidly in early pregnancy, it's very important to get your routine blood tests and thyroid panel done as advised by your gynecologist.
