What cough syrup is safe during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and have developed a really bad cough. My regular cough syrup isn't safe for pregnancy, so I was wondering if there are any specific ones that doctors recommend?

Hey, it's super important to be careful with meds during pregnancy! When I was expecting, my doctor clearly told me what cough syrup was okay. You really need to ask your own gynae, because every case is different. Just give them a call, it's safer.

I can only share my wife's experience. Her doctor specifically prescribed a certain cough syrup for her when she was pregnant. I would strongly recommend against self-prescribing anything. Please, speak to your gynaecologist for a safe option.

Oh, pregnancy woes! 🤰 I know it's tough when you're coughing and can't take much. But seriously, for cough syrup, your gynae is your best friend. They'll tell you exactly what's safe and give you peace of mind! 😊

I'm not sure myself, but I've heard that most cough syrups are not good during pregnancy. So, is it only a doctor who can suggest specific ones that are completely safe? Like, there's nothing generic that everyone can take?
