What causes pcos in women?

My cousin recently got diagnosed with PCOS, and I've been reading up on it. I'm worried because my periods are also irregular sometimes. What actually causes PCOS in women?

PCOS is closely linked to hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and sometimes thyroid issues like I have. It is so important to get regular blood tests done for thyroid and fasting insulin. Proper follow-up with an endocrinologist or gynecologist helps manage it beautifully.

I see this question asked so often by young girls. PCOS is basically a metabolic and hormonal issue caused by a mix of genetic predisposition and modern lifestyle factors. Don't worry, with a balanced diet, stress management, and a doctor's guidance, you can manage it very well.

PCOS is heavily driven by insulin resistance, high stress levels, and poor sleep cycles which we working folks deal with daily. There is no quick cure, but cleaning up your diet and making time for even 20 minutes of daily movement makes a massive difference. Definitely consult a gynecologist for a structured plan.

Medical research indicates that PCOS is primarily caused by genetic factors combined with insulin resistance and low-grade inflammation. Since its presentation varies wildly from person to person, getting a customized treatment plan from a trusted gynecologist is the most effective approach.

My doctor recently mentioned that I might have PCOS because of my irregular periods and mild acne, and I am still trying to understand it. Is it true that insulin resistance is the main cause, and does it mean I have to completely stop eating rice?

I cried so much when my ultrasound showed 'cyst-like' follicles on my ovaries. Actually, my doctor calmed me down and explained it is just a lifestyle-related hormone imbalance, not a permanent disease. Once I regulated my meals and reduced stress, my cycles became completely normal.

PCOS is often triggered by insulin resistance which leads to weight gain and hormonal chaos. If your gynecologist permits, starting consistent strength training or even 45 minutes of brisk walking daily can improve your insulin sensitivity massively and regularize your periods.
