What autoimmune diseases cause weight loss?

My sister has been losing weight without trying, and the doctors are suspecting an autoimmune disorder. We are very worried. What autoimmune diseases are known to cause unexplained weight loss?

Oh, this is a tricky one because unexplained weight loss can be concerning. Some autoimmune conditions like Graves' disease (which affects the thyroid) or Crohn's disease can definitely cause weight loss. It's best to talk to a doctor if you're experiencing this, they can run tests to figure it out.

Being diabetic, I'm always careful about sudden weight changes. For autoimmune conditions, Graves' disease is known to cause weight loss because of the fast metabolism. Also, Addison's disease can cause it. If you're losing weight without trying, especially with other symptoms, please see a doctor. Don't self-diagnose.

Yaar, unexplained weight loss can be super concerning, actually. Like, some autoimmune stuff, especially thyroid-related ones like Graves' disease, can really speed up your metabolism and cause you to lose weight. Don't ignore it, see a doctor ASAP if this is happening.

I completely understand the worry when you notice changes in your body, especially weight. Autoimmune diseases like an overactive thyroid (Graves' disease) or even conditions like celiac disease can cause weight loss. It's so important to get it checked by a doctor to ease your mind and get proper guidance.

I remember panicking once when I lost weight for no reason, but it turned out to be just stress and changed routine. But autoimmune conditions like Graves' disease or Crohn's can actually cause it. So, while it might be nothing, it's always better to rule out anything serious by visiting a doctor.

My doctor explained that several autoimmune diseases can lead to unexplained weight loss. Hyperthyroidism, especially Graves' disease, speeds up metabolism. Inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis can cause malabsorption and reduced appetite. Also, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus can lead to muscle wasting and weight loss due to chronic inflammation. Always get a thorough check-up.

Bro, my friend lost like 10 kgs in a few months without trying, turned out it was his thyroid acting up, which is an autoimmune thing. So yeah, conditions like Graves' can do that. If you're losing weight without any reason, definitely see a doctor, don't just hope it goes away.

Ugh, if only my body caused weight loss without me trying! Kidding, but seriously, unexplained weight loss can be scary. I heard conditions like an overactive thyroid (Graves' disease) can make you shed kilos. Best to get it checked out by a doc, don't want any unwanted 'side effects' from your immune system!

I can only speak from my own experience. My cousin had Graves' disease and he lost a lot of weight very quickly. It was quite alarming for the family until he got diagnosed. I really think seeing a doctor is the only way to know for sure what's going on.

With PCOS, I'm always advised to monitor my weight, so I get why this question is important. Some autoimmune conditions, like issues with the thyroid (hyperthyroidism) or certain digestive disorders, can lead to weight loss. It's complex, so seeing a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis is key.

I'm just curious about this too! I've read about things like Graves' disease and some gut-related autoimmune stuff causing people to lose weight. It's fascinating how our bodies can react. But for actual advice, a doctor is definitely the best bet, not Google!

Unexplained weight loss is not normal. Autoimmune diseases like hyperthyroidism (Graves' disease) or inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis) can cause it. Don't ignore it, please go to a doctor to get properly checked. It's important.
