What are weight gain foods?

I'm trying to gain some weight in a healthy way because I'm quite underweight. Can anyone suggest some good weight gain foods?

Hey, don't stress too much about being underweight! You can easily add healthy calories to your diet with things like bananas, peanut butter, and full-cream milk. Just enjoy your food and don't force yourself to overeat all at once.

In our younger days, we used to give kids milk with soaked almonds, dates, and a spoonful of pure desi ghee to build strength. Bananas with warm milk in the morning is also an excellent traditional remedy. But make sure your digestion is strong enough to digest these heavy foods.

I completely understand how frustrating it is when people constantly tell you to 'eat more' as if it is that simple. I used to feel so self-conscious about my thin frame. Focus on calorie-dense foods like dry fruits, ghee, and paneer, and take it easy on your mental health.

Please be careful not to eat junk food just to gain weight quickly. I developed high cholesterol and stomach issues by eating deep-fried items to put on kilos. If you are struggling to gain weight, get your thyroid and stomach health checked by a doctor first.

I get so anxious trying to change my diet, fearing it will upset my stomach. If you are trying to gain weight, maybe start slow with simple things like dal with extra ghee or a banana shake so your system can adapt. You can do this, just take it easy!

I also tried gaining weight last year after a bout of illness. What worked for me was eating small, frequent meals instead of huge portions. Adding avocados, cheese, and milkshakes between main meals made it much easier without feeling bloated.

The key is choosing nutrient-dense foods, not just empty sugars. Include potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole grains, and protein sources like paneer or chicken. Pair this with basic strength training so that the weight you gain is healthy muscle, not just fat.

I recently managed to reach my target weight after being underweight for years. Eating curd with sugar, bananas, and a handful of cashews daily really helped me. It takes patience, so don't expect results overnight, just keep eating clean.

I can only share what worked for my brother when he was recovering from a long illness. My family prepared kheer, mango shakes, and gave him mixed nuts every afternoon. This helped him regain his strength and weight gradually over three months.

I was super skinny in college and finally gained 8kg by adding oats, peanut butter shakes, and eggs to my daily routine. You need to eat more calories than you burn. Just track your food and stay consistent, it takes time but it works.

Even for gaining weight, you must monitor your overall health like blood pressure and sugar levels. Focus on healthy fats like walnuts, almonds, and olive oil rather than saturated fats from fast food. Keep up with light physical activity to keep your heart healthy.

If you are eating a lot and still losing or not gaining weight, please go get checked. I ignored my sudden weight loss thinking it was just stress, but it turned out to be a severe hormonal issue. Do not just rely on food, get a proper medical checkup done.
