What are the things to avoid during pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant and I want to be extra careful with everything. My mother-in-law gave me a long list of things to avoid, but I want to double-check. What are the main things one should definitely avoid during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, it is extremely important to avoid high-sugar foods, refined flour, and processed items to prevent gestational diabetes. Also, completely stay away from raw or undercooked eggs, papaya, and excessive caffeine. Keep your meals balanced and track your blood sugar levels regularly if your doctor advises.

As someone who managed PCOS before conceiving, I'd say definitely avoid self-medicating, raw papaya, pineapple, and unpasteurized dairy. It's also wise to limit caffeine and avoid heavy lifting or high-impact activities. Always run your diet and lifestyle plans by your obstetrician to be safe.

Well, the first thing a husband should avoid is stressing out his pregnant wife! On a serious note, avoid raw foods, heavy lifting, and any random medicines without asking your doctor. Let her rest, eat well, and keep things simple.

In our days, we were told to avoid long travels on bumpy roads, lifting heavy buckets, and eating unripe papaya or sesame seeds. Just eat fresh, home-cooked food, keep your mind happy, and trust whatever your doctor advises you.

Don't stress, you are going to do great. Just make sure to avoid raw or undercooked meat, unpasteurized milk, alcohol, smoking, and taking any over-the-counter pills without consulting your gynecologist. Focus on staying hydrated, eating fresh meals, and getting plenty of rest.
