What are the symptoms of kidney problems in women?

I've been feeling unusually tired, and my urine color seems off sometimes. My grandmother had kidney issues, so I'm a bit anxious. What are the common symptoms of kidney problems in women?

I went into a complete spiral last month because my ankles were swollen and I was peeing constantly, thinking my kidneys were failing. Turns out it was just a severe UTI and mild water retention from PMS! Don't panic right away, but definitely get a simple urine routine test done to be sure.

I am new here and actually quite worried because I have been feeling very tired lately and my lower back hurts on one side. Can kidney issues also cause a burning sensation during urination, or is that just a normal infection? Pls help if anyone knows.

In women, kidney issues can sometimes be trickier because symptoms like lower back pain, fatigue, and frequent urination are often ignored as generic backache or pelvic issues. Look out for persistent puffiness under the eyes and a metallic taste in your mouth. Regular checkups are the best way to catch these early.

Beta, in our days we always watched out for swelling in the face and feet, which indicates water retention. While drinking enough water and barley water (jau ka paani) helps clean the system, for any real kidney issue you must consult a proper doctor and not rely only on home cures.

High blood pressure is a major cause of kidney damage in both men and women. If you are experiencing symptoms like nausea, shortness of breath, or swollen feet, please check your blood pressure and get your kidney function tests (KFT) done immediately.

Honestly, as someone who gets about 4 hours of sleep, I'd say constant exhaustion is my default mode. But if a woman is experiencing weirdly itchy skin, swollen ankles, and having to run to the washroom all night, it's probably her kidneys and not just lack of sleep. Time to book an appointment, guys.
