As a vegetarian, I focus a lot on the right vegetables. For weight loss, green leafy vegetables like spinach, fenugreek (methi), and kale are excellent due to their high fiber and low-calorie content. Also, try bottle gourd (lauki), ridge gourd (tori), and cucumber. They are very hydrating and filling. Always cook them lightly to retain nutrients.

For me, managing diabetes means watching carb intake carefully, even with vegetables. Non-starchy vegetables are the best for weight loss and blood sugar control. Think broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, cabbage, bell peppers. Avoid excessive potatoes or corn as they can spike blood sugar. Always good to discuss with your dietician.

Honestly, people throw around so many 'best' veggies for weight loss on the internet. But it's not a magic trick. Stick to simple, locally available, non-starchy vegetables. And most importantly, discuss your diet plan with a registered dietitian or your doctor, don't just follow random advice online.

Having lost quite a bit of weight myself, I can confidently say that incorporating plenty of non-starchy vegetables is key. Broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, capsicum, cucumber, and tomatoes were my go-to. They are high in fiber, low in calories, and keep you feeling full. Also, try making veggie soups for dinner, they are very satisfying.
