What antidepressant helps with weight loss?

After my delivery, I've been struggling with postpartum depression and also want to lose the baby weight. My doctor suggested antidepressants, but I'm wondering if there's any particular antidepressant that actually helps with weight loss, or at least doesn't cause weight gain.

Do not start taking antidepressants just because you read online that they help with weight loss. While Bupropion is sometimes known to suppress appetite, these are serious psychiatric drugs with other side effects. You must verify everything with a licensed doctor.

Bupropion is the one doctors often mention for being weight-neutral or aiding weight loss. I get so worried about how different chemicals affect our bodies, so please make sure to discuss your complete health history with a doctor before starting anything.

Bupropion is sometimes associated with weight loss. Just remember to take care of your inner self and stay positive during this journey. Physical changes will naturally balance out when your mind is at peace.

I am quite new to learning about these medications. I have read that Bupropion can lead to weight loss, but does it also cause high anxiety as a side effect? I would love to hear from anyone who has used it.

I was prescribed Bupropion last year for my depressive episodes, and I actually lost a few kilos because it naturally reduced my emotional overeating. It was a blessing for me, but definitely consult your doctor to see if it suits you.

My psychiatrist explained that Bupropion is unique because it affects dopamine and norepinephrine, which can decrease appetite and lead to mild weight loss. Unlike SSRIs, it doesn't cause metabolic slowing, but it still must be taken strictly under medical supervision.

While Bupropion is often linked to weight loss, using any antidepressant for weight management without a primary psychiatric need is highly unsafe. Please get checked by a qualified psychiatrist to evaluate what is truly safe and healthy for your body.
