What antibiotics safe in pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and have a bad cough that doesn't seem to go away. My regular doctor is on leave, and the new one prescribed an antibiotic, but I'm a bit worried. Which antibiotics are generally considered safe to take during pregnancy?

In my days, we were always very careful during pregnancy, and penicillins like Amoxicillin were considered the safest when an antibiotic was truly needed. Do not worry, modern medicine has very clear guidelines now. Just trust your gynecologist completely.

Penicillins and Erythromycin are generally considered safe during pregnancy! 😊 But please make sure you run everything by your doctor first to keep you and the little one totally safe and healthy.

As someone who has to be very careful with hormones and medications, I know how scary choosing meds can be. Generally, penicillins like Amoxicillin are used safely in pregnancy, but you must avoid self-medicating. Always verify with your OB-GYN.

For small issues, traditional foods like ginger, warm milk with turmeric, and proper rest are best to avoid extra medicines during pregnancy. If an infection is severe, doctors usually prescribe mild antibiotics like Amoxicillin. Always consult your family doctor first.

I am trying to learn more about this for my sister. I read that Amoxicillin is safe, but is that true for all trimesters? It would be really helpful to know if there are specific antibiotics that must be strictly avoided.

Don't rely on random lists on the internet for something as sensitive as pregnancy. While penicillins are generally considered safe, any drug can have risks depending on your health history. Please get a direct prescription from your gynecologist.

I think penicillins are the safe zone, but honestly, with a newborn keeping me awake all night, my brain is fried. Just call your doctor and ask, it is way easier and safer than trying to figure it out yourself!
