What alcohol is good for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose weight and want to cut down on unnecessary calories, including from drinks. If I have to choose, what alcohol is generally considered 'good' for weight loss, or at least the least damaging?

Whenever I visit my physician at Lilavati Hospital, she reminds me that even low-calorie drinks can pause fat burning. It is highly recommended to consult your doctor or a qualified clinical nutritionist who can explain how alcohol affects your specific weight loss plan.

Honestly, after handling late-night work calls and getting barely five hours of sleep, any drink feels good! But realistically, sweet wines are a disaster for the waistline. Stick to a basic vodka with soda and lime, and pray you have the energy to hit the gym the next day.

I used to drink 'diet' drinks thinking I was being healthy, but my weight kept creeping up and my blood sugar went haywire. I ignored it until a routine health checkup revealed fatty liver issues. Please get your basic health parameters checked before trying to manage weight while drinking.

I can only tell you what worked for me during my transformation journey. I completely cut out beer and cocktails because they made me feel bloated and stalled my progress. Switching to a single measure of whiskey with plain water on weekends helped me stay on track.

My doctor explained to me that the liver prioritizes burning alcohol over burning fat, which is why weight loss stalls. If you do choose to drink, spirits like gin, tequila, or dry white wine are technically the lowest in carbs. Just make sure to monitor your total intake carefully.

Actually, beer belly is real yaar! If you are partying, stick to vodka soda with extra lime because it is super light on calories. But honestly, the real culprit is the late-night biryani craving after drinks, so watch out for that!

With diabetes, weight loss and sugar management go hand in hand. If you drink, go for dry spirits with zero-calorie mixers like soda, and avoid tonic water or juices. Always track how your body responds, as even low-sugar alcohol can affect your metabolism.
