Is wellbutrin safe in pregnancy?

My psychiatrist mentioned Wellbutrin, and I'm currently trying to conceive. I want to make sure I'm taking the safest options for me and a potential baby. Is Wellbutrin considered safe for use in pregnancy?

During pregnancy, we try to avoid even standard cold medicines and stick to ginger tea, so taking strong medicines is a big decision. Please don't take any risk based on online advice, only take what your gynaecologist specifically prescribes.

Better to ask your doctor rather than us internet 'experts' who don't even know the spelling of embryology! Your doctor has studied for years to answer this safely for you.

I am also in my first trimester and my doctor is reviewing my medications. Did anyone else here continue their antidepressant during pregnancy? I am feeling so anxious about making the wrong choice.

Healthy mind, healthy baby. If the medication is necessary for your mental well-being, doctors often keep you on it while recommending light prenatal yoga and healthy food. Definitely let your gynaecologist make the final call.

The safety of Wellbutrin during pregnancy is a complex clinical decision that depends on individual risk-benefit analysis. Please consult your obstetrician and psychiatrist who can coordinate your treatment plan safely.

The safest option is to take your current prescription file to your gynaecologist during your next visit. Let them coordinate with your psychiatrist to see if the dose needs to be adjusted or changed.
