Is weight training good for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some stubborn weight and get back in shape after having a baby. Someone told me that weight training is very effective for weight loss. Is this true, or is cardio better?

While lifting weights is popular nowadays, I still believe that a simple walks in the park, yoga, and eating home-cooked meals is the best natural way to stay fit. If you have any back pain or joint issues, please consult a doctor before starting to lift heavy weights.

I used to feel so self-conscious going to the weight section of the gym, fearing everyone would look at me. But once I started light training, it changed my relationship with my body and helped me lose inches when the scale wasn't moving. It's totally fine to feel scared at first, just take your time.

I completely understand how confusing it is to choose the right exercise when you are trying to lose weight and worried about doing the wrong thing. Weight training is actually great because it boosts metabolism, but your anxiety is totally valid. Start with very light weights at home to build your confidence.

Weight training is highly beneficial for fat loss, but you must pair it with a proper diet to see results. Make sure you are eating enough protein through paneer, curd, and dal to help your muscles recover. Consult a nutritionist to align your food with your gym routine.

I am thinking of joining a gym but I have never lifted weights before. Do I need to buy special shoes or belts, or can I just start with basic home workouts first? I would be really grateful for some simple tips for beginners.

Strength training is effective, but safety should always be your first priority. If you have any chronic issues like high BP or spinal issues, please get a green signal from your doctor before starting weight training. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

My family always advised me to stick to brisk walking for fitness, but my doctor suggested adding light strength training to preserve muscle mass during my weight loss journey. It has really helped me feel more energetic. Trust your doctor's advice on what works best for your body.

Yes, lifting weights is excellent because muscle burns more calories even when you are resting. At our age, it also helps maintain bone density which is very important. Just make sure to learn the correct posture from a trainer so you don't injure yourself.
