Is weight loss linear?

I've noticed that sometimes I lose weight quickly, then it slows down, then nothing for a while, and then again a little bit. My trainer mentioned something about plateaus. Is weight loss a linear process, or does it fluctuate?

Absolutely not. Your weight will fluctuate daily based on water retention, salt intake, and sleep quality. Don't obsess over the daily scale numbers; look at the weekly or monthly trend to measure actual progress.

With my thyroid issue, my weight jumps up and down like crazy and never drops in a straight line. Some weeks I lose a kilo, and the next week I gain it back for no reason. If you are struggling with inconsistent weight, please get a thyroid profile test done and follow up with a doctor regularly.

Weight loss is definitely a roller coaster, but if your weight is dropping very rapidly without any proper pattern or effort, please get it checked. Sudden, erratic weight drops can sometimes indicate thyroid issues or other medical conditions. It is always safer to consult a physician.

Weight loss is never a straight line, my dear. You will have plateaus where nothing changes for weeks, and then suddenly you'll drop a kilo. Just stay consistent with your clean home food and walks, and don't let the scale stress you out.

I used to get so demotivated when my weight would go up by 500 grams after a hard workout session. But I realized it is just muscle soreness and water retention. Your weight will fluctuate throughout the month, especially around your period, so just be patient with yourself.
