Is wax safe in pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and used to get regular waxing before. Now I'm not sure if it's safe for me and the baby. Is waxing considered safe during pregnancy?

Honestly, regular wax is mostly safe, but your skin gets super sensitive during these months. I tried homemade haldi and chana dal packs for facial hair instead because hot wax gave me red bumps. If you really need to wax, just ensure the temperature is mild and use a very soothing aloe gel right after.

It is generally fine, but our body goes through so many hormonal shifts right now, making the pain threshold quite low. I used to practice deep breathing or simple pranayama right before my salon sessions to stay calm. Just listen to your body and don't force it if it feels too painful or stressful.

My wife had the exact same question during her second trimester. Our gynaecologist at Max Hospital told us that waxing is fine, but hygiene of the salon is extremely critical to avoid skin infections. Pls check with your own doctor once because they know your specific skin and pregnancy condition best.

Yes dear, I got waxed throughout my pregnancy and my baby is perfectly healthy. Just make sure the salon girl uses clean strips and doesn't pull too hard near the belly or inner thighs. If you feel any extreme discomfort, just ask them to stop immediately.

I was actually reading about this for my sister recently. From what I found, chemical hair removal creams are a big no, but normal waxing is considered safe since nothing goes inside the bloodstream. Just watch out for skin sensitivity because those pregnancy hormones make everything react faster.

While waxing is usually safe, please be extra careful if you have gestational diabetes. Our skin heals a bit slower during this time, so any small burn or tear from hot wax can lead to minor infections. Tell the salon staff to be very gentle and keep the wax temperature warm, not hot.

Keep your mind peaceful and don't take stress about these small things. Waxing is perfectly safe, but if the pain makes you tense up, it's better to avoid it or try a gentler method. Take care of yourself, stay positive, and let your body guide you.

I got waxed regularly till my eighth month and had zero issues. Just a tip: switch to chocolate or ricas wax as they are much gentler on sensitive skin compared to normal honey wax. Also, avoid waxing the stomach area completely to stay on the safer side.
