Is water aerobics good for weight loss?

I have knee issues, so high-impact exercises are out for me. I'm considering water aerobics for weight loss. Is it an effective way to shed kilos without putting strain on my joints?

Water aerobics is highly effective as it offers resistance while protecting your skeletal structure from impact. However, if you are recovering from any cardiac or orthopaedic issues, consulting your doctor before starting pool exercises is the safest approach.

Actually, it's a great workout, yaar. Especially during summers, working out in the pool is so much better than sweating in a stuffy gym. You burn fat and stay cool at the same time.

It burns good calories, but remember that the pool makes you very hungry afterward. Plan a healthy vegetarian snack like roasted chana or a paneer salad post-workout, otherwise you might eat back all the burned calories.

I was so scared to join the pool because of my weight and worried about looking silly. But honestly, everyone is so supportive, and it feels absolutely amazing and light once you get in. Don't worry at all, just try it!

I tried high-impact floor aerobics and injured my lower back badly. Water aerobics is much safer for the spine, but please consult your orthopedic doctor first to ensure your back can handle the twists in water.

My aunt started water aerobics last year because she had bad knees, and she has lost around 7 kg. It is highly effective and doesn't feel as tiring as running on a treadmill.

My smartwatch tracks water aerobics under pool workouts, and the active calorie burn is surprisingly close to brisk walking. It's a great, modern way to keep your heart rate up without stressing your knees.

It is a solid cardio workout that burns a lot of energy because of water resistance. Just pair it with a slight calorie deficit and some basic strength training, and you will see steady weight loss results.

Water exercises are safe, but always check your blood pressure and heart health before starting. It is best to have a routine checkup with your doctor to make sure your cardiovascular health is ready for regular pool sessions.
