Is walking or running better for weight loss?

My friend and I are trying to lose weight, and she swears by running, but I prefer walking. I'm wondering if walking is just as good, or if running is definitely better for losing weight.

Both are really good, but walking is much gentler on the body. You don't have to stress yourself with running if it feels too hard. Just take a pleasant walk every evening, it will surely help you feel lighter and happier.

Brisk walking while breathing in the fresh morning air is a wonderful natural therapy for health. Running is fine if you are young and fit, but if you feel chest pain or heavy breathing, stop immediately. For any such serious symptoms, you must visit a doctor instead of trying to push through.

I tried running last week but my shins started hurting so badly that I got scared of injuring myself permanently. Does anyone else get anxious that running might do more harm than good to their bones? I feel much safer just doing a fast walk instead.

Running burns more fat in less time, but it also increases your appetite heavily. If you prefer walking, you can still lose great weight by keeping your meals high in fiber and clean plant proteins. Don't worry about high-intensity cardio if your plate is clean and balanced.

I always consult my physician at Apollo before starting any new fitness regime like running. Running can put a lot of sudden strain on your heart and joints if you aren't prepared. It is best to ask your doctor clearly which one is safer for your current BMI and health profile.

I completely agree that walking is better for long-term consistency. Try walking at a fast pace for 45 minutes daily; it is highly effective and very easy to sustain.
