Is walking 15k steps a day good for weight loss?

My fitness tracker keeps showing I walk about 15,000 steps a day, mostly at work. I'm trying to lose weight; is this amount of walking actually good for weight loss, or should I be doing more structured exercise?

While 15k steps is a great fitness goal, it is also a huge physical load on your joints and knees if you are not used to it. When I visited my doctor at Apollo, he clearly advised me to build up my stamina slowly rather than jumping to high step targets. Please consult your physician to ensure your joints can handle this volume safely.

I tried walking huge step counts like this to lose weight, but my fatigue levels went through the roof because my thyroid levels were completely unbalanced. If you have underlying issues like thyroid, overexerting yourself can actually increase your stress hormones and stall weight loss. Do get your blood tests done alongside your fitness journey.

Since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, my doctor emphasized the importance of regular cardiovascular exercise like brisk walking. 15,000 steps is an amazing level of activity that will definitely help with weight loss and heart health. Just make sure to get regular BP checkups to monitor how your body is adapting.

15k steps a day is excellent, but please don't exhaust yourself to the point where your body feels completely drained. I find that pairing a moderate 10k walk with a cup of warm methi seed water in the morning works beautifully for my metabolism. Listen to your body and don't push too hard if your knees start hurting.

Please be very careful and listen to your body if you feel any sharp pain in your ankles or shins. I ignored a mild ache while pushing for high daily step goals last year, ended up with a severe stress fracture, and was stuck in bed for two months. Get a proper medical checkup if you feel any persistent discomfort.

I want to start walking 15k steps a day for weight loss, but I am really worried if it will cause severe muscle wear or make me too tired to work. Has anyone else jumped to 15k steps suddenly, and did you face any extreme fatigue or joint pain? Please share your experience.
