Is vicks vaporub safe in pregnancy?

My doctor told me to be careful with medications during pregnancy. I'm feeling very congested right now. Is Vicks Vaporub safe in pregnancy, or should I look for other remedies?

When you are barely sleeping due to pregnancy backaches, a blocked nose is the last thing you need! Honestly, a little Vicks on your nose is safe and will at least let you get a couple of hours of peaceful rest.

Yes, it is perfectly safe for external use because the skin absorbs very little of the active ingredients. Just make sure you do not apply it directly on your breasts if you are close to your delivery date, to avoid baby getting it on them.

We always consult our gynecologist at Fortis before using even basic household items during pregnancy. They told us Vicks is fine, but it is always better to get a direct nod from your own doctor to be absolutely certain.

My wife's doctor explicitly told us that camphor, eucalyptus, and menthol in topical ointments like Vicks are safe in pregnancy if used in moderate quantities. They advised us to avoid any oral decongestants instead.

Don't worry yourself over these minor things, dear. It is quite safe to use for a cold. Just stay warm, sip some warm water, and avoid any self-medication for the cough.

With work and managing a pregnancy, you need quick solutions to get through the day. Vicks works fine for a blocked nose, but if you have a fever too, don't wait—just visit your clinic immediately.

Since I conceived after a long battle with PCOS, I was terrified of using anything. My doctor reassured me that small amounts of Vicks rubbed on the throat or forehead are safe, but warned against using too much.

Vicks is fine for external application. However, practicing deep breathing exercises like Jal Neti (only if you are trained) can keep your sinus passages clear naturally throughout your pregnancy.

External application of Vicks is fine to clear up a stuffy nose. To keep your immunity up during pregnancy, make sure you are eating nutrient-dense food and doing light, doctor-approved prenatal workouts.

Vicks is fine to ease your nasal block. Try to also keep up a light daily walking routine if your doctor allows, as the fresh air and movement really help open up your airways naturally.

I completely understand the anxiety of questioning every little thing you use right now. But don't worry, a little bit of Vicks for a cold is absolutely safe and will help you feel much better.

Even though everyone uses it, I always recommend checking with your gynecologist first. It is always better to be 100% sure when it comes to your baby's health.

Beta, you can apply a little Vicks on your forehead, but also try inhaling steam of hot water with some carom seeds (ajwain). It clears the chest beautifully and is very safe for the child.

In my time, we used Vicks all the time during cold weather. It is a very safe and practical household remedy, much better than taking strong english pills when you are carrying a baby.
