Is vicks vaporub safe during pregnancy?

I'm down with a nasty cold and have been craving the relief Vicks Vaporub usually brings. But since I'm pregnant, I'm being extra cautious. Is Vicks Vaporub safe to use during pregnancy?

Yes, it is generally safe for external application. During my pregnancy, I had to be very careful with my thyroid pills and regular blood tests, but my doctor told me that using a little Vicks for a blocked nose is completely fine.

Applying a very thin layer of Vicks is safe, but for congestion, also try doing gentle 'Anulom Vilom' pranayama in a well-ventilated room. It helps clear the nasal passages naturally without any chemicals.

I agree with most of the comments here. My wife's gynecologist also said external use of Vicks is perfectly fine for congestion.

Haan, bilkul darrne ki baat nahi hai. My sister used it when she had a bad cold during her third trimester. Bas steam mein ek chota drop daal lo, use relief mil jayega na.

I totally understand how stressful it is to worry about every single product when you are pregnant. But rest assured, using a normal amount of Vicks on your forehead or neck is completely safe and won't harm your little one.
