Is valtrex safe during pregnancy?

My doctor prescribed Valtrex for a recurrent issue, but I've recently become pregnant. I'm really anxious about taking any medication during this time. Is Valtrex safe to use during pregnancy, or should I be looking for alternatives?

Beti, humare zamane mein toh itni dawaiyan nahin thi. Ab toh har cheez ke liye doctor se puchna chahiye. Pregnancy mein koi bhi chhoti se chhoti baat ya dawai khud se mat lena. Doctor ki salah sabse upar hai.

For something like Valtrex during pregnancy, which is a prescription medication, you absolutely must consult your gynaecologist. They will weigh the benefits versus any potential risks for your specific situation. Don't rely on general advice from the internet.

When I had high BP during pregnancy, my doctor was very particular about every single medication, even mild ones. Valtrex is a strong antiviral. You must have a detailed discussion with your gynaecologist about its safety and necessity for your specific case.

I'm not familiar with Valtrex. Is it usually prescribed for a specific condition that can occur during pregnancy? And if so, is it generally considered a last resort, or are there situations where it's quite common to use it? I'm just curious.

I totally get how scary it can be to think about medicines during pregnancy! Every little thing feels like a huge decision. For something like Valtrex, which is a specific prescription, your doctor is truly the only reliable source. Don't hesitate to ask them all your questions.
