Is tylenol pm safe during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and have been having trouble sleeping lately. My sister suggested taking Tylenol PM, but I'm a bit worried about whether it's safe for the baby. Should I avoid it completely?

Pregnancy is a time for utmost caution with all medications. Tylenol PM contains acetaminophen (Tylenol) and diphenhydramine (a sleep-aid). While acetaminophen is generally considered safe for pain in pregnancy, the safety of diphenhydramine in Tylenol PM during pregnancy is less clear and should ONLY be taken under strict medical supervision. Always consult your OB/GYN before taking ANY medication while pregnant.

Oh god, pregnancy insomnia is real! I would have done anything for sleep. But Tylenol PM has diphenhydramine (the sleepy part) and paracetamol. While Tylenol is usually okay, adding other ingredients during pregnancy is a big no-no without asking your doc first. Don't risk it, your gynae will know best!

As someone who has to watch every little thing for my diabetes, I know how important it is to be super careful, especially during pregnancy. Tylenol PM has multiple ingredients. Even if one part is okay, the combination might not be. Please, do not take it without asking your gynecologist. Your health and the baby's health are paramount.

Hey, it's totally understandable to be worried about taking anything during pregnancy. Tylenol PM has an ingredient for sleep, which might not be okay for pregnant women. It's really, really important to talk to your doctor about this. Don't take any chances, your doctor will guide you perfectly.
