Is theraflu safe during pregnancy?

I'm about five months pregnant and caught a cold, with a bit of a fever. My sister suggested Theraflu, but I'm worried about taking anything while pregnant. Is Theraflu considered safe for expecting mothers?

Beta, during pregnancy, you have to be very careful with all medicines. I remember my mother used to say only take haldi doodh or ginger tea for cold during pregnancy, nothing else. It is always safest to ask the doctor before taking any such strong medicine, for the child's health.

Oh, it's completely understandable to be anxious about medications during pregnancy! You're doing the right thing by asking. Many over-the-counter medicines aren't safe for pregnant women. Please, don't take anything without talking to your gynae first. Your baby's safety is number one.

Dude, for pregnancy, I think it's always a no-go for any random medicine. My sister was pregnant, and even for a headache, her doctor was super strict. Theraflu sounds like strong cold medicine. Best to check with the doc, don't risk it.

Absolutely not without consulting your doctor! Pregnancy is a very sensitive time for medications. Even common cold medicines can have ingredients that are not safe for the baby. Please, call your OB/GYN or visit a good hospital and ask them directly before taking anything.

Definitely not safe without a doctor's approval. During my pregnancy, I was advised to be extremely cautious with all medications, even seemingly harmless ones. Theraflu contains multiple active ingredients, some of which may not be suitable. Please, consult your doctor to avoid any complications.
