Is the runs a sign of early pregnancy?

I'm trying to conceive, and lately, I've been having loose motions quite often. My friend told me it could be an early sign of pregnancy. Is having 'the runs' really an indication of early pregnancy, or should I be worried about something else?

I actually experienced this when I was very early pregnant, like in the first few weeks. It's not a super common symptom for everyone, but some women do get diarrhea or an upset stomach due to hormonal changes. It's definitely worth checking with a home pregnancy test first, and then a doctor.

Hello there! While 'the runs' (diarrhea) can sometimes occur in early pregnancy due to hormonal shifts or changes in diet, it's not one of the primary or most common indicators. Many other things can cause an upset stomach. The most reliable first step is always a pregnancy test, followed by a doctor's consultation.

Beta, in my time, we mostly looked for morning sickness or missed periods. Diarrhea, or 'the runs' as you call it, can happen due to many things, not just pregnancy. Don't worry too much. If you suspect pregnancy, take a test, and then see the doctor. That's the best way.

If 'the runs' meant pregnancy, half the population after a spicy meal would be expecting! 😂 Jokes aside, while hormones can cause digestive changes, it's not a reliable sign. A missed period and a home pregnancy test are your first steps. Don't rely on stomach issues alone!

Ho na, sometimes hormonal changes in early pregnancy can cause an upset stomach or even 'the runs' for some. But it's not a definite sign, there are so many other reasons for it. Best to do a pregnancy test first, haan na, and then talk to your doctor.
