Is the paleo diet good for weight loss?

My cousin sister has been trying the paleo diet and says it helped her lose weight quickly. I've been struggling to shed some kilos after my second baby. Is this diet really effective for weight loss, or is it just a fad?

I've heard a little about paleo, but I'm not sure. Does it mean you only eat what cavemen ate? And is it really sustainable for long-term weight loss in India, with our kind of food?

Paleo can be quite restrictive, especially for vegetarians, as it focuses heavily on meats and avoids grains and legumes. While some people do lose weight, it's important to consider if it provides all necessary nutrients and if it's truly balanced for your body type. Always consult a dietician.

Honestly, for weight loss, what works for one might not work for another. Paleo can restrict a lot of common foods, which might make it hard to stick to. Focusing on portion control and whole, unprocessed foods, with a regular exercise, usually gives better and more sustainable results for me.

It can be effective for some, but consistency and balanced nutrition are more important than just following a fad diet.

Many diets can help with weight loss short-term if they create a calorie deficit. Paleo, by cutting out processed foods, often does. But long-term adherence and nutritional completeness are key. It's always best to discuss with a nutritionist or doctor if it's suitable for your health.
