Is sushi ok for weight loss?

I've started going to the gym and eating healthier to lose a few kilos. My friends often go out for sushi, and I don't want to feel left out. Can I still eat sushi sometimes if I'm trying to lose weight?

My doctor actually explained this to me quite well. While fish is good, the white rice in most sushi rolls is refined and can be high in calories and carbs, especially if it's sweetened with sugar and vinegar. For weight loss, it's better to opt for sashimi (just the fish) or rolls with brown rice and lots of vegetables, and be mindful of creamy sauces or tempura. Portion control is key!

Honestly, I love sushi but for weight loss, it can be a bit tricky! Some rolls are loaded with mayo, fried stuff, or sweet sauces. It's definitely not a low-calorie food if you're not careful. I try to stick to simpler rolls with more fish and veggies and avoid the tempura ones.

As a working professional, I often grab quick meals. Sushi seems healthy, but you need to be smart about it for weight loss. Avoid anything 'crunchy' or 'spicy mayo' as those add serious calories. Stick to sashimi or basic rolls with minimal rice if you want to keep it light. It's easy to overeat the rice, so be mindful.

Haha, sushi for weight loss? It's like asking if pizza is good for weight loss if you only eat the toppings! Kidding aside, it really depends on what you're eating. If it's pure sashimi, great! If it's a dragon roll dripping in sauces, maybe not so much. My diet plan says 'read the menu, don't just point and order!'

I always feel so confused about sushi and weight loss. One moment I think it's healthy because of the fish, the next I'm looking at all the rice and thinking I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone actually successfully lost weight while regularly eating sushi? Or should I just avoid it completely?
