Is sumatriptan safe in pregnancy?

I suffer from severe migraines and usually take Sumatriptan. Now I'm pregnant, and I'm worried about taking any medication. Is Sumatriptan considered safe to use during pregnancy for migraines?

Pregnancy is one time where even a simple paracetamol requires a three-way discussion with family and doctors. Please don't take migraine medicines like sumatriptan on your own. Let the gynaecologist take the headache of deciding what is safe!

Hey, please don't take any triptans without asking your doctor first. Migraines during pregnancy are awful, I know, but we have to be extra protective of the little one right now. Call your OB-GYN and ask for safe alternatives.

Before you buy or take any expensive migraine meds, just get a basic consultation with your doctor. Paying 500 rupees for a quick doctor visit is much cheaper than dealing with any pregnancy complications later due to wrong self-medication.

I totally get it, migraine pain during pregnancy is absolutely unbearable and you just want instant relief. But please check with your doctor before taking sumatriptan. There are specific guidelines for different trimesters, so professional advice is a must.

Sometimes dehydration or missing meals due to weird pregnancy cravings triggers these massive headaches. Eat some simple warm food and drink lots of water first. For the sumatriptan tablet, definitely get the green light from your doc before popping it.

During pregnancy, it is beautiful to rely on gentle, natural paths wherever possible. Try sitting in a dark, quiet room and practicing very slow Nadi Shodhana pranayama for 10 minutes. For medications like sumatriptan, please strictly follow your doctor's word.
