Is starving yourself bad for weight loss?

I'm trying really hard to lose weight for an upcoming event, and I feel like I'm not seeing results fast enough. Sometimes I think about just starving myself for a day or two. But is starving yourself actually bad for weight loss in the long run?

I have been there and it is honestly so exhausting. I used to skip meals thinking it would help, but it only made me feel miserable, anxious, and led to heavy binge eating later. Please don't do this to yourself, your body deserves proper nourishment.

Let's be clear: starvation diets are completely useless and ruin your metabolism permanently. You will lose water weight initially and then stall completely. If you want real results, lift some weights and eat balanced meals.

Through yoga and deep breathing, I learned to listen to my hunger signals. Starvation ruins your metabolic fire or 'jatharagni', which actually slows down weight loss. Consistent, light, and pure sattvik meals are the correct way to lean down.

I have seen so many people on this forum try extreme dieting only to gain all the weight back within a month. Starvation forces your body to hold onto fat reserves out of self-defense. Focus on high protein and portion control instead.

Beta, staying hungry will only make you weak, it will not reduce fat. Our elders always said to eat light food like moong dal khichdi, buttermilk, and seasonal vegetables rather than skipping meals. Drinking warm water with lemon in the morning is much better than starving.

Our bodies are beautiful temples and starving them only causes harm and imbalance. True wellness comes when we eat mindfully and with gratitude. Take care of yourself, eat nourishing meals, and let the weight loss happen naturally and peacefully.

Starving yourself is basically a direct invitation to become a hangry monster who will eventually attack a plate of biryani at midnight. It absolutely backfires! Eat healthy home food, life is too short to starve.

I tried the starvation route once and lost muscle, not fat, and ended up looking pale. The realistic way is to create a small calorie deficit of 300-500 calories. Eat eggs, paneer, veggies, and walk 10k steps daily—that works permanently.
