Is sparkling water bad for weight loss?

I'm trying to reduce my calorie intake and thought sparkling water might be a good way to cut out sugary drinks. But then a friend said it might cause bloating or something. Is sparkling water bad for weight loss, or is it generally fine?

Not at all! I log everything in my tracker, and plain sparkling water is a lifesaver with 0 calories. It gives you that fizzy sensation of a soft drink without any of the sugar or heavy carbs. Just track the flavored ones for hidden sodium.

I used to worry that the carbonation would slow down my metabolism or cause water retention. But honestly, it didn't affect my weight loss journey at all. If you feel bloated after drinking it, maybe stick to normal water for a few days to see how you feel.

I lost 15 kgs and plain sparkling water was my go-to when I had carbonation cravings. The key is to make sure it is zero calorie and has no artificial sweeteners which actually trigger hunger. Drink it cold with a slice of lime, it works great.

With my slow thyroid metabolism, weight loss is always a battle. Plain sparkling water hasn't caused any weight gain for me, but I always suggest getting your hormone levels checked regularly. If your thyroid is balanced, minor things like sparkling water won't matter.

It is completely fine for weight loss because it is just water with carbon dioxide. It can actually help you feel full between meals. Just make sure you are not choosing the sweetened varieties that can sneak in extra calories.
