Is running or weight lifting better for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose weight and get toned. I like both running and weight lifting, but I'm not sure which one I should prioritize for weight loss. Is running or weight lifting better for weight loss?

For weight loss, a combination is ideal. Running helps with calorie deficit, and weight lifting builds muscle, which is great for metabolism. But none of it works optimally without a careful, balanced diet. Focus on wholesome, plant-based foods to fuel both activities effectively.

Don't just pick one based on popular opinion. Consider your body's current state. I once pushed myself with only cardio, ignoring strength, and got injured. A balanced approach, and maybe even a doctor's checkup to see what's best for your body, is smarter than just choosing randomly.

This is exactly what I've been researching! It seems like running burns more calories in the moment, but weight lifting helps build muscle, which then burns more calories at rest. So confusing to pick just one, maybe a mix is best?

For weight loss, and especially for conditions like diabetes, combining both is truly the most effective strategy. Running helps with blood sugar control and burns immediate calories. Weight lifting builds muscle, which improves insulin sensitivity and boosts metabolism long-term. Just remember to manage your diet alongside.
